The reason I want it is that I visit Canada, and I don't want to have to turn on my lights when it is snowy or foggy or overcast when the sensor doesn't turn the lights on for me. Yes, I know, it is just pure lazy on my part, but I can't tell you the number of times that I can't see another vehicle in heavy snow on a bright day because they rely on auto headlights. Plus, I've been leaving my lights on because I'm so used to auto lights after driving with them manually turned on in the snow.

I was told that the brights operate at less than 50% power when it is active.

If you want to talk about lazy, I was driving my wife's older burb the other day and made a lane change. I was really mad that I had to actually HOLD DOWN the turn signal lever to make a change! How dare they make me work that hard!! I actually had to use my finger!

So if your going to be driving in the snow and fog, shouldn't you be turning on your lights anyway so that you have rear lights??? DRL's are only headlights and they are only highbeams @ 30% mode!! Not much light for seeing in Fog or snow!!! Good luck!

I was informed by my dealership that they didn't know how or couldn't make mine work

I have to have them on 24/7 on a highway near me, its required. $213. fine, the sign reads $203, but, the court adds $10 more

also in my business it is strongly recommended

I just put a piece of cloth over the sensor, now the truck computer is fooled by the ambient light reading it receives

Its the little black round thing sticking up at the front center of your dash.

We have driving lights? I didn't know. Are you sure? I thought it was odd when I got the truck that it didn't have them since most new cars do now and there are so may areas that localy require them now. Really, are you sure we are suppose to have them. Didn't see anything about them in the book.
