Default Idle Control Valve Issue

I had a check engine light on the other day. I took it to Autozone and they said it was an Idle Control Valve. So I replaced it ($72.00 WOW). Then I also unhooked the battery to reset the check engine light. The light went out but it still Idles at 1800 RPM's. This is killing my gas. Please help me out if anyone knows what to do.

Check and make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks. If that doesn't help, it's probably time to scan the PCM and see what the IAC counts are. Typically, you should see counts of 35 or less.

I do not know how to check for a vacum leak nor do I know what a PCM is. Sorry, this is my first Dodge Ram and not that smart with engines unless I have owned it for a while. Please explain or send a link that explains. Thanks for your help.
