Default Trailer Wiring

Simple enough question to get the answer to myself you would think...however when it's -30, I don't want to ahaha.

Is the trailer wiring (two black flaps on the back bumper), both the 4 and 7 pin, hooked up? I have heard rumour they put the plugs on there but don't actually wire them in from factory.

My Sport didn't come with a hitch receiver on it. I had to put it on. Haven't pulled anything yet and don't want to freeze needlessly hooking my trailer up to test it.

If the plugs are present, they should be hooked up and functional.

I would have to agree. Just a rumour I heard. Thanks for the feedback.

You should be able to bend down and run your hand up behind the bumper and feel the wires without laying on the ground.

But like Ramtech said, if the plugs are there, they should be hooked up.

Yep reached under and there are wires hooked to plugs running away. I know there are wiring harnesses that hook up at the rear lights so just making sure it wasn't a case of have wiring leaving but then the other end of it that I can't see/feel is dead.

I'm sure it works. I can't see Dodge doing that (even though they don't put tow hooks on ahaha)
