Default Which Hitch to Buy?? Class III or IV

http://www.thehitchstore.com/hitches...s-c-20_22.html

they have the actual hitches... and then the one on the top that bolts to the bumper support???

i dont really have any towing needs, but want it there when i need it, no i have no idea what gears i got in the rear end, but i know its the 4.7 under the hood???

worth it to go with the full on hitch, or should i just get the OEM style thing??

and class 3 or 4???

i thinking the class 4 full on deal, but wanted some opinions... never had a truck before... coming from a 95 honda civic... yea i have a hitch on that i pull my m/c around with.....

Go with a full class III hitch. It is rated to haul what your truck should be able to haul.

The frame mounted receiver hitch is a LOT stronger than a ball in a bumper, will not break off in the bumper and transmits towing shock to the frame of your truck vs. just the bumper.

Class IV is what you get when you order the towing package with your Ram.

Go with either, don't use the bumper ball mount.I go with bigger is better compair prices go with the best deal, make sure it's a fully welded frame mount not a bolt togeather they are cheap in my opinion. Make sure it's a brand name hitch don't skimp on the hitch for the saftey of your trailer and anyone around you while your towing.

i always go with the Class 4 receiver & hitch
it looks like the price is the same as the class 3

so you are not losing money, stronger is always better, in my mind

Since you don't tow a whole lot the class III should be fine. That's what I have and it hasn't failed me yet. I usually tow a trailer with about 850 lbs. worth of quads.

Class III is up to 5k lbs and IV up to 12k. If your truck has ability to tow more than 5k, I would go with the IV as you never know what you may tow in the future (boat, tralier, etc.).
