Default Ram vs Tundra

I keep hearing from the guys about how I should be scared of tundra's because they are so bad. I dont know if they are busting my hump or are tundra's really that bad ass. Has anyone out their got a hold of one yet with a Hemi and how'd you do? Hard to believe they are any badder than my little Hemi

The only people that think they are badass are the Tundra owners

Actually I believe they are a tad bit quicker, but nothing astronomical.

I have owned 4 Tundras. If you want to race one, better know what you are doing. The Tundra is really quick. I still visit the Tundra site. I don't list the pros and cons of the two trucks on either site because some don't like the truth about the truck they have. I will say this, the Tundra was a better pulling machine than the Ram.

From my understanding, they have pretty low gears ( like 4.3?) that gets them going.

Sounds like the 3:55's will have a bit of a challange on their hands.

Most Tundras have 4.10s with a 6 speed transmission. This is where the Tundra has the Ram beat. The 6 speed transmission alows you to pick from 3 gears for pulling. The 6 speed transmission has smaller gaps between gears, this also helps when racing.

What you really have to worry about is the the TRD Supercharged package.

I took my SRT8 300C to the 1/4 mile track last summer, a guy there had a very plain looking full size 4x4 Tundra with the warrantied TRD supercharger.
The first time I ran my car against him I was shocked to see him keeping up with my modded SRT8 car!

The track conditions were not very good, kinda humid and wet, and he was still running very low 13's!! That's pretty dang good for a big old brand new truck!

Honestly I think even the SRT-10 Ram would have had a hard time out running that 4x4 truck! ...sad to say.

I think our Rams are better looking, but I wouldn't want to put my truck up against a Tundra in any race.

To add to that, they are geared so low they have a 6 speed tranny to compensate.

Some have 4.10's and some have 4.30's. It depends on the options. I had an 07 DC TRD 5.7l with 4.30's and ran consistent 14.6's with no traction with only a volant intake. I test drove a 10 DC TRD Sport which only comes with 4.10's. Huge difference. Compared to my old Tundra, it felt like something was holding it back. I'm sure the intake a little to do with it, but it was mainly the gears.

In my opinion, the Tundra feels like it has much more bottom end, but the Ram has more top end. Expect a good race, but don't get your feelings hurt if you lose. Get them out the hole and you should do well.
