Change to synthetic at the first change if you want to. I'd pick Amsoil over RP because RP doesn't meet ILSAC GF-4 standards that are required to keep your engine warranty intact. Not to mention Amsoil is the best rated oil out there.

You can change it for your second, Amsoil is my vote. I always change them at 500 miles to syn unless it came from the factory with Syn already in it.

You can get good synthetic oil with out paying the extra premium for Royal purple or amsoil oil.
And if you think about it, with the quality of synthetic oil on the market today the worst synthetic oil should be way better than what you need.

Mobil1 is a well respected synthetic oil. I've used it in my wifes Tahoe since new in 2003 and it's currently in the crankcase of my Ram. However, I've been seriously looking at the new Castrol Edge synthetic oil and without starting an oil war I think it may be a better oil than Mobil1. Therefore, My next oil change in the Ram I'll try Castrol. The Hoe will continue to get the Mobil1 since she was raised on it.

Back in the day.... Pennzoil ...The best protection for your car you can buy, That was there slogan. Well Castrol sued them and they had to change that. And I noticed the pro motorcycle racers were running Castrol syn,,, And I do to ..
