Default Code 1281

I pulled this code off my 2001 Ram 2500 5.9L gas engine today by turning the key to the run position 3 times. Does anyone know what this code means? I looked in my Haynes manual but couldn't find it. Thanks!

Do you think I could drop down to a lower temp thermostat instead of using the 195 degree one that is in it? I don't see what harm it would do.
