Default Cheep Grab Handle Fix

After thinking about this all week i came up with what i think will fix this problem pretty good. All of us will probably encounter the problem off the interior grab bars failing after we try to pull our fat asses into the cab... What i came up with is to cut down some old "pill bottles" and slide them over outer part of the "tabs" that the handle bolts through.then take 3-4 washers and put them on the inside of the "tabs". Then bolt it back up to the A Pillar... This will "Squeeeeze the tabs together and fix the fail... Ill post some pics later on when I get it all buttoned up.

I found this in some other forum... Its way better of an idea then I had and I think ill try this out.

DIY - Repair A pillar(grab handle)..............
.........that your wife broke while trying to use it to pull herself up in the truck.........

Well, in case you didnt get the hint, my wife broke mine some time back.

But thats what I get I guess with a truck that has 12" of lift.....LOL

Anyway, here is how I did it.

I took some flat washers, bolts/nuts, hose clamps and Gorilla Glue (my fav)

I put the hose clamp around the end where it was broken and left it raised up so the washer would fit down in it. I put some glue on it and placed my washer on it. I then took my other smaller washer and put some glue on it and put it in the hole with the bolt and ran the bolt out the backside through the first washer. Then get the nut and and thread it on and tighten it all down and let it dry.

Gorilla Glue does expand so you might have to trim it off or if you want you can try a different type of glue.

Anywho, here are some pics and money saved from buying another handle.
