well, my truck goes in monday for the dealer to look at it and fix a recall as well, although im guessing they probably wont have much to say either since there arent any cases or bulletins on it. hopefully they will be able to re-create the problem and at least see where the issue is.

Well, i just got home from the dealer. They couldn't duplicate the problem. They had their shop foreman and their transmission "specialist" looking at it. Fluid, was good, fluid pressure was good, all sensors were good and no codes were present. So basically they told me to drive it and come back again if it happens.

I knew this was going to happen. Murphy's Law when you take a vehicle into a shop with an intermittent problem. Hopefully it might have been just a 1 day glitch or hopefully it happens very frequent and it will happen for them if i have to take it back.

My wifes truck has had trans problems that the dealer cant duplicate. Twice when stopped at a stop light while in drive it has lost all gears, and you have to shift it into park and back in gear several times for it to go back into gear. It also will not come out of park sometimes and the dealer claims they cant find anything wrong with it even though I have showed them a video of it not shifting out of park.

OK, I didn't want to say this and sound negative but I will since I see a few of you are having problems. Some dealers are a POS to deal with. I would try another dealer and see if they can help you.

When I bought my Ram 14 years ago it had some issues with hard shifting and I took it to the dealer. They told me they couldn't reproduce it. They had me leave it over night since it mostly did it when it was cold, they jerked me around and finally told me I was crazy. In essence the manager told me that I was being a hypochondriac, just looking for problems. They didn't even bother to mention that there were a couple of TSBs for the tranny on my Ram back then. End result was that my truck was shifting WORSE after they were done with it. I got really pi$$ed and went to a totally different dealer in another county. That dealer fixed my problem in no time flat. They were really great to work with. What pi$$ed me off even more was that later when Dodge was closing dealers the closed the one that helped me and kept open the one that jerked me around. Don't give up and don't take BS from one dealer. Find another one that is more customer oriented and give them your business. Also, I don't know if Dodge sends out customer satisfaction surveys. I have received them from Ford and Toyota since those are my two newest cars. Make sure Dodge hears about both the good and the BAD on the surveys.

I don't think you fully understand. I never once said I was unhappy with the response i was given. Its an intermittent problem. If i can't duplicate it why should i expect them to duplicate it right off the bat?

I myself am a Service Advisor at a high end repair shop and I hate to say it, but its people like you that I hate. Never happy because the problem didn't get fixed the first time even though the problem could not be duplicated. Unless you have endless amounts of money to burn on a couple techs to spend endless amounts of time on your truck, I wouldn't be complaining. Give the dealer some credit. Atleast the had their best guys on my truck.

I don't know if I misunderstood your situation, but all I was saying was that you (and Sking) should get a second opinion. Obviously you didn't understand what I was saying because you jumped to the conclusion that I am "never happy". That is absolutely wrong! I told you in my story that I gave the first dealer several tries at remedying the problem (which was not intermittent in my case) and they only made things worse. Fact of the matter is that there was a TSB for my problem which they completely ignored. No I don't take kindly to being jerked around or wasting countless hours of my life at a shop that isn't really helping me. The second dealer got my problem fixed with no problems and I said very clearly that I was very satisfied with their help. You are obviously taking the point of view of the service adviser and are easily irritated. You should also take into consideration Sking's comments which is really what I was more directly responding to.

the same thing happened to me today. I drove maybe 2 min parked came back 2 min later and put it in drive and nothing. I then put it back into park than drive several times and nothing. so I turned it off and restarted it put it into drive nothing for about 30 sec i pushed on the gas then it engaged. I nearly crashed. needless to say taking it back to the dealer again 3rd time now for 3 different things and I only have 1500 km on it! starting to think I should have bought a GM truck.
