Thumbs down vacuum pump

Has anyone had problems with their vac pump blowing up? Mine split and blew a large chunk out this morning and I lost all my oil. Had to be towed home. Just wondered how many have had this happen.

Found a company in NC that offers these vac pumps for sale. I guess the damage is quite common on the CTD at around 180,000 miles. He also has pictures. GOULD GEAR AND ELECTRIC, INC or fixinrams.com. He gives a much better explanation than I can. My pump is on its way. Bill
