Well, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but it's possible that the Kevlar is just a marketing thing.

LINE-X Xtra is the ONLY authorized user of Kevlar for truck bedliners. Xtra is co-owned by DuPont and LINE-X. It took them over 2 years to formulate the product which included finding the right Kevlar fiber length and adding components that make the fiber line up a certain way. That info comes from a DuPont representative.

Anyone can buy Kevlar, open the container, and pour it into whatever, and say "Wow, it's much better now because I put Kevlar in it!". It does not work that way. Actually, the Kevlar can interfere with the crosslinking of the polyurethane and make it weaker!

I'm guessing that Duplicolor (and Speedliner) just dumped some in their product with no R&D to facilitate sales.

You may be right but I would rather take the chance and do it my self than pay 650 plus tax and that's not even going over the top of the bed rail. My friend did his truck with the bed armor in the beggining of the summer time and has not had a problem with his at all
