Default yet another exhaust question

I did a search, but I never did find this exact question asked.

What is the diameter of the inlet and outlets of the factory pipes?

I'm guessing that it's 3 inch in and 2 1/2 out with the factory duals....

I'm looking into replacing my factory muffler with something after market, but I want to try and keep all of the pipes and such that I already have. I know this won't do a lot for performance, but I believe that it'll make it sound a bit more aggressive. I haven't decided which route I'm gonna go yet, just trying to get my ducks in a row.

I've got a '10 Crew Cab sport, with the hemi and factory duals....

anyone got any thoughts on this?

The cat pipes to the y is 2 1/2", 3" from the Y to the muffler, and 2 1/4" from the muffler to the tips!

Just do a mufflex! Or buy whichever muffler you want and get a shop to add some pipe to make it fit! Stock muffler comes off with 3 bolts so its easy as anything to put back on, but after you hear it growl you'll never want to look at the stock muffler again!

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. Planning on heading over to the local speed shop/ muffler gurus this afternoon and getting a guestimate on what'll cost to swap out my stock muffler with something else (I'm leaning towards a Flowmaster 50) but keeping as much of my original pipes as I can.

I think I'm gonna go with a Flomaster 50, 3 local shops quoted me an estimate of less than $250 installed.

I might be able to beat that a little bit if I were to do it myself, but this way it saves me the hassles.

Thanks to everyone who helped
