It won't make enough of a difference that it will matter unless you're kicking and clawing for every ounce of HP you can get. Put the old valve back on and drive the truck to make sure the MIL stays off.

what is the mil? i put the new one on last night and drove it down the road im happy i put the new one on it helped the truck felt like it added another 50hp.no more ruff idle no more hesitation all i can say is wow for now.i also unhooked the battery so maybe that had something to deal with it. check engine light is still on and it still falls to 400 rpm when i stop and stalls

The MIL is the Malfunction Indicator Lamp. Unhooking the battery won't clear out the code, so get it rescanned and if none of the codes are active, clear them out. The stalling is likely from a dirty throttle body. Here's how to clean it - http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=46764

ok thanks. i took the intake off last week and cleaned everything got all that built up black stuff out of all the lines and cleaned the filter box got it all looking like new again and since then thats when my stalling has started.i noticed a sensor in the front of the intake dont know what it is think that could be it. the rubber gasket that goes on at the body and intake was still good even had it off again last night and made sure.

The sensor you're talking about is the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor and it wouldn't case a stalling problem. Get the PCM scanned again and we can go from there.

ok i scanned it got these codes po174 system lean bank 2 next code was po157 02 circuit low voltage bank 2 sensor 2 truck is so bad i dont know what else to do also had code po430 the truck idles at 600 rpm every time i stop it drops to about 400rpm and stalls but if i throw it in neutral before i come to a stop it is fine.or if i can stop and let off the brake when the rpm starts to fall it will jump back up and start surging ???????im thinking about hacking off the converters but if i do that what do i do about the 02 sensors that are behind them we dont have a smog test where i live and the thing is drinking gas bad we are talking about 1/4 tank every 40 miles. thanks

I had similar problems. I dont remember the code but the left engine bank lean is the 02 sensor. Hope this helps.
