Default Fuel mileage question/lift install

I have been pondering putting a 4/5 inch lift on my truck with 35" tires but was wondering what others with similar lift kits are getting for fuel mileage.

I currently have a stock truck with the diablo programer. I get about 11.5 mpg/town driving with no tuner and 12.5 with 89 tune. I am just wondering how much worse it will get if I lift the truck.

Also does anyone have any lift recomendations. I have been looking at BDS. I am mainly concerned with keeping a decent ride quality due to I mainly only use the truck in town.
.
Any input would be appreciated.

I have the 6" BDS lift and 35" tires on my 2010 ram sport. I get about 11-12 miles in town depending how im driving. I seen about a 1-2 mpg difference once i installed everything.

The BDS lift is great, just make sure you get the dual steering stabalizer with it, helps with the death wobble. but i am biased to this kit since its the one i bought. there are plenty of other lifts though.

Jon,

Do you know how tall your truck is with the 6" kit and 35's? I am trying to make sure I can still get my truck in the gargage.

yes i can get them for you. I will tomorrow when it is light out.

just so you know, if you are looking to buy the BDS kit measure the difference from the middle of the wheel to the wheel well in the front and back. mine was a difference of 3 1/4" so i went with the 6" infront and the 3" lift in the rear to make the truck level.

You will loose 2-3 mpg with the big tires and I don't know about yours but mine would not go in the garage with any lift. Also you will definately have a lot rougher ride for only highway use. I do think they look good lifted but the trade off is not worth it.

Ya, I did not buy the dodge for gas mileage but i certainly do not want to drop below 10 mpg in town. I have a 7ft garage door and techically it should fit with a lift, but just want to see what others are showing for overa heights.

I did not forget to get those measurments but Im at work at rode my motorcycle in today. I can get them to you tomorrow. but i can say i have taken it into a parking garage that was 7ft and although it looked close i still had clearance. as for the rough ride on highway comment, that isnt totally true. the only thing that i would consider "rough" would be the slight shaking you will get after installing a lift. besides that everything works the same as it does now.
