I wouldnt suggest doing straights on it chances are the minute you try to travel and you have straights on youre truck there gonna piss you off. If I was you I would look at different ways to go about making it louder. Also I hope you realize thats straights arent gonna have the same tone as the glasspacks its just gonna be loud, and pop, and sound like its backfiring really baddly. Its youre truck so do what you want to do with it, but if it was my truck I would go for good sound not really loud.

A user on this forum (amermuscle) did this video of his 5.9. I think it's pretty sweet. Maybe he will have some input for ya.

Also look into some headers man.

ooohh ive wanted to do the cutout for years!! those things are pimp. id almost forgotten about them. that'll be my next mod after the rear end. quiet muffler for highway/long trips and straight when u wanna rag the motor

headers will pretty much differ from 200 probably to a good 800 im guessin deppending on the brand and what quality you want but for noise i allways go for the flowmaster 10 or origional 40 series deffinately should try running true duals and maybe an x pipe.

I really would like to run a good set of headers with high flow cats and no muffler.tonight I might try to heat them up with a torch and spray in the water...if I do it ill let you guys know how it works.and I can't do true duels because I only have one cat if I run another it will make the motor run rich.

Heat em up with a torch nail em a few times with a hammer to loosen the fiberglass and rev the shit out of it and hope that works for yeah I guess? Also you should just gut an old cat and run a pipe through that'll make it louder.

Not sure if it was mentioned but if you do go straight pipes you will have a power loss... free flowing is nice yes and it sounds great yes, but you need back pressure if you dont have a highly modified engine. There is a point when you have it too free flowing. I have straight pipes on my Camaro, always have, and when it was mostly stock I had a loss in low end torque and a few HP, but now that its modified heavily I dont see the loss. Same with the truck, its striaght piped now, and theres a torque and HP loss that I will be getting back by adding a glass pack and a nice 90 degree bend for side exit.
