Perhaps you didn't see enough redeeming value in the AFE to continuing running that set-up?

(Heck, my Airaid is sitting on the bench in the garage right now,,,)
what can I say man, I was cutting better times with my oem intake box than this AFE, but thats not enough of a reason for me to bash on it. LOL
I guess the motor was running more efficient with the modded oem intake since the truck was still basically stock. Truthfully, I wish I had the AFE now being cammed with headers and CMR tune

Life is full of 'what if's" and 'wished I would of's',,, Answers are seldom clearly defined,,,

With the Airaid, I was having a pretty drastic increase in IAT's in the summer when idling in traffic. Cooled off pretty quick when moving, but figured the OEM would be better in those regards, so I went back to OEM last week.

No noticable difference in MPG or performance,,, The OEM IAT's don't 'cool off' as quick as the Airaid when moving, but they don't seem to climb quite as high (as far as I can tell in WINTER) as the Airaid. (Airaid does NOT seal to the bottom of the hood!)

About the only thing that I know I lost for sure when going back to OEM was the intake noise,,,(And the cool appearance!!! LOL!)

Maddog,

I just ordered the AFE Stage 1. Are you still pleased with yours? If so, why? What differences have you noticed?
