Default Opinions please?

I bought some new chrome LED tailights and put them on along with some chrome door handle covers. Once I got all of this on my truck I didn;t really like the look, its just to much chrome for me now(wheels are chrome as well) I been looking into getting the VHT niteshade kit and making my tailights a little darker. Is this a good product? Also has anyone ever tried making regular chrome parts into a black chrome or at least darken it, like to do my chrome door handle covers this way if its even possible. Thanks for the help!!!

Also here is a set of 22" rims I been looking at, can't decide between these and the regular SRT Rims, both chrome.

VHT is good stuff and your idea sounds solid. I haven't personally seen anyone attempt black chrome with it though.

I've heard a lot of folks on here have great results with VHT, just depends on how dark you want to go and how many coats you use. Let me see if I can find some pics for ya. If it were me, though, on the rims, I love the look of the SRT!

not bad looking rims, i would keep looking, theyre very busy, as for the chrome door handles, it just 2 sided tape, a little heat gun action and you could takt them off no problem and just sell them.

I have no experience with the VRT stuff, but for the wheels, I'd say the SRT, I'm not a big fan of the ones you have posted. But I'm also putting aggressive tires on mine and with those I'm guessing you will have low pros, which could look pretty different.

I love my tinted tails

As far as the chrome trim, I have heard of someone doing but I don't know how it turned out. I think Duplicolor makes a rattle can of stuff called "black chrome" That's meant to darken the appearance of chrome. You might have better luck with that.

Yea the VHT is pretty good stuff. I used it on my old tails and it came out pretty good. You should put a few coats of clear on them to keep the VHT from fading.

If you want to get a black chrome look check out the Dupli-Color Shadow paint kit. It is a spray on paint without any scuffing. I have seen it done on the TV show Truck U and it looks pretty good when done. They used it on a set of rims and it came out pretty cool. At least that gives a totally custom look since there are very few black chrome rims out there
