i believe you are correct. I have read that some of the quad chips have the high idle feature, and I would bet that is what is malfunctioning. pull the main fuse to it and see if it happens again.

Well, i found where it's tapped into the fusebox. I will disconnect it completely and go from there.

Hopefully nothing drastic happens.

Cycle the key off and on 3 times and it will show you any codes (ie 0244 ) look up the number and your done....Have a pen and paper handy...

Solved the issue. I had codes p1693, 0122, and 0123, all related to the APPS sensor. I replaced the sensor, and adjusted the idle voltage and never had a problem again.
