Question Has anybody ever heard of putting air shocks in the back, and it will lower it??

Some people have said that if u put air shocks on the back of a truck that it will lower it if you have all the air out of them??? I know air shocks are mostly used for towing, but i have heard this from a couple people that it can be done.

Maybe got air shocks confused with air bags ? That would be my guess anyways. Good luck !

Are you looking for airbags or air shocks in particular? If you're looking to drop the rear, the I'd look at replacing your springs with bags, then you can level/lower the rear as required to suit your taste. You'll also want to get either drop spindles or drop springs for the front as well to bring it closer to the earth

I used to have a slammed s10, back when i was young lol. Bags really are the way to go, and not really all that much money. Or you can get blocks to lower it, but dont cut the springs.

I've actually been looking for air shocks for my 96 gen2 1500 4x4 for the rear and can not seem to find any anywhere. Does anyone know of any or why they dont seem to make them for that particular model ?

I am just trying to be able to adjust the loaded hight when carring a load or trailer without changing the ride characteristics. I had air shocks on many of my other pickups and they worked well for doing just that. But I cant find a set for my 96 Ram 4x4 anywhere. I thought there may be a design reason or something else. Any help is appriciated.
