Default 2011 Exhaust Mod Question

Has anyone on the forum, either 2011, well actually 2009 through 2011, done their exhaust by simply taking out the factory muffler and just welding in straight pipe after that? I was just wondering. I did this on my 05 avalanche, and my 06 silverado. Of course on both of those i then ran duals out the back. However since i have a 2011 QC Sport with the "factory duals" i was thinking about just removing the muffler and welding in the stainless steel pipe and leaving it like that with no muffler. Just wondering.

You're looking for a y-pipe and yes, lots of guys have. Check out this section of the forum:

You can add a muffler if you'd like.

It would be pretty easy for a shop to do, Mufflex also makes a delete kit that bolts in by you! It is a magnaflow Y pipe with the pipes already welded!

That mufflex is 200 bucks, I'm pretty sure a shop could do it for a lot less, the Y pipe in there kit is 27 bucks by itself....FYI

I think the 18" magnaflo sounds better and deeper than that.

I was wanting to do this to my 11 Ram as well. I've done it to both of my Charger R/T's and it sounds great for little $$. I've been searching the forum for this answer. Thanks guys.
