Default Alright...my brain hurts!

So I have been pouring over Ram Forumz, Ebay, MagnaFlow, and other assorted websites trying to figure out what to do with my exhaust.

I know that I want to get rid of the restrictive stock y-pipe. What I can not figure out is what diameter y-pipe to order from Magnaflow. I have an 05' so should I get the 2.25" or the 2.5" inlet?

Also, I really want some solid volume but nothing too outrageous. My best guess is that I should just buy a Magnaflow muffler. But, again Dodge's decision to use a 2.75" mid pipe is really messing with my brain. Should I get a 3" inlet muffler? And then again, what size muffler should I get? Length and overall size!?!?!

And now I've just listen to the Aero 3030...

I think the y-pipe intlets are 2.5 and i know the outlet is 3. If you want something that sound good but not too loud i would go with the 18in magnaflow. If its not loud enough after you do the install then just get the resonators removed or you could get an electric cut out if thats not loud enough then i would get headers IMO.

If anyone really cares...

I went with - Magnaflow 10778 2.5" in and 3" out for the y-pipe
- Magnaflow 12219 3" in and 3" out Center/Center for the muffler
- Magnaflow 15452 4" tailpipe
- generic pipe reducer from 3" to 4"

All of these items were purchased from Ebay, since I am obsessed with the site, and cost me a total of around $200! A lot better than the original prices from Magnaflow!

I have a friend who is a manager at an automotive shop and he will be putting all of the exhaust together when its all here. I will take pics and get them up as soon as its done!

Sorry, I just realized that I never responded to this thread. The tail pipe issue came in cause someone got the great idea to cut it just behind the axle...sort of like a poor man's dump. I found the 4" tailpipe on Ebay for $104 shipped. I just got a shipping number from the seller after 2 weeks and I should have it by Friday. Then next week it will all go on! For now here are the pictures I took with my phone when the muffler, reducer, and y-pipe came in.

Muffler still in the box.

A little scale for you to judge the size!

Love the inside of this...makes me excited to just look at the photo.

The reducer!

The inside is still free flow...obviously!

More photos when the tailpipe gets delivered and its installed!
