Default 2005 1500 Tire question

Whats up everyone? I currently run a R17 rim size. Whats the tallest tires that can go on these without a lift? Also is it possible to put 20" rims on a 05' 1500 without a lift?

Cheers!

I would stick to a 33" tire without any lift and yes you can put 20" rims on, the stock ones came with 20's as well as the 17's

Thanks for the quick reply 916Timmy. Do you know if I went with 20" with 33's how much taller would that make the truck over a R17 w/285?

285 is the width in mm. What is the next number? That is the number that is a percentage of the width which you'll multiply by two and add the rim height for total tire Outer Diameter tire size....a lot of work I know. I hate metric. Go to www.1010tires.com for a tire calculator but 33" tires work with stock 20s or 17s with no problem on a 2wd or 4x4 Ram.

I have seen people put a 35x12.5 tire on stock rims with a little rubbing on hard crank turns...on a 2wd....3rd generation.

Kinda crazy.
