Default Taillights

Has anyone either tinted their tail lights or put covers on them or have any recommendations to which looks the best?

i was going to get the covers for mine as i had them on other trucks, but my only complaint was how dim it made the lights, after seeign the recon smoked LED on my buddys truck ive decided to go that path as the LED's behine the smoke were brighter than my stock!

I would try some lamin-x vinyl tint stuff! I've used it on my bikes and it has held up good! They make it in different shades too.

I just purchased the gunsmoke Lamin-x tint for my heads, fogs, and tails. I've seen it on several trucks and it looks great. The best part, imo, is the fact that it's removable. I used VHT nightshades on my 3rd gen, and although it looked great, if I ever got harassed by the 5-0, I would have had to replace the entire light.
I went with the gunsmoke because it adds a nice amount of tint, but doesn't take away from the light output. I have HID's in my headlights so the difference is negligible. Good luck with your decision!

You could always look at getting LED replacement bulbs that are brighter to make up for the difference!

I like the lamin-x idea too cause of the fact that its removable, but I dont want the white reverse part tinted. Does anyone know if that can be done? Also how glossy is it? I heard the film isnt as glossy as if you were to paint them and then clearcoat.

There are some nice covers out there, but IMO for the price of some of them you can almost buy some pretty nice aftermarket taillights.
