Default Anone experience surging?

Hey guys, I've been running the 87 octane canned tune, and around 35-40 mph; it seems like I'm getting a surge when holding a steady speed. Anyone else experience this? I usually run 89 octane, and our gas (by law) has 10% ethanol added to it. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Nope, I haven't experienced it. I don't know that it's related to the tune so much as it may be related to some other mechanical or electrical issue.

I can't tie anything else to this problem. It didn't start until I put in the new program. Should I try the 91 octane program? Is it safe to run with 89 Octane?

It could be that the MDS it more sensitive with the tune installed, I had this issue in my 08 when I ran the 93 tune. I installed the 87 performance tune and run 89 or 87 and I haven't had it happen ,Also at those speeds the MDS I think gets confused LOL so I just turn mine off around town or any speed 50 or under. With the 91 tune you should not run the 89 gas as it will retard your timing and won't run all that well thats was my experience with it, my truck ran like a pig.

To check and see if its the tune's fault or not why not just program it back to the stock tune, and see if it continues.

I have experienced this actually and couldn't pinpoint the problem either. I have installed and reinstalled different octane tunes and can't seem to find the "cure". If I kept my food steady on the gas to maintain 40mph I would watch my RPM's jump slightly and that gave me the surge that you're describing. It's definitely a tune issue, nothing is wrong with your truck. I'm from Boston and swear the gas blows up here during the winter months so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it. I currently have the 89 octane tune installed but I put 93 in and that seems to have helped. Give that a try and see if that helps any. You can always put higher octane gas in a lower tuned vehicle but NOT the other way around.

i think this problem lies in the convertor......i dont think DIABLO has a handle on trans calibration.......what you feel (i think) is the torque convertor clutch slipping in and out.....

That ^^^^ might be it.

Don't run an octane lower than the tune value.

Its a common issue
They have a few things to work out and better do it soon
It's getting very annoying, not to mention the tranny shake and shrutter when matted to pass...

That's around the 60km/hr mark and I have issues too, normally cured but engaging the tow/haul for me, not sure if it's the T-verter or if it's the MDS kicking in/out, but it's just not quite happy sitting at 60+-5km/hr... so I just speed instead
