All very good advice right here. I remember my test, so many years ago; took it in my dad's lifted '98 2500 CTD... had to help the examiner into the truck, but my parents were just starting their school, so we knew the examiner, she complained that I should have brought one of the training cars Good news was she stopped my about 25 min into my 45 min road test and said that I obviously was a good driver and didn't need to keep going... then I backed the hitch into the parking spot sign at the registries office she just laughed claiming that's what I get for driving a big truck and walked away.

Ohh and make sure you know how to use the windshield wipers, blinkers etc... this dumb blond wasn't even allowed to take the test because she didn't know how to use the blinkers hahaha.
This is very true, know where everything in your vehicle is. They're trying to get away from 10 and 2 due to modern airbags; people were still knocking themselves out when they deployed. 9 and 3 allows your hands/arm to be forced up and out without coming near your head, and in the rams, it means you can get your hands resting right between the steering wheel arm and use all the steering wheel controls with your thumbs.

When I did my driving test, part of the route she took me on included a oneway street, that is 4 lanes wide.
We came off a side street, and into the far right lane, She said we would be making a left in 7 blocks, so i started getting over to the left.
After my test was done, my only error was that I was too quick getting left, and with that much time, she wanted me to just do 1 lane per city block.
At one point she said i changed across 2 lanes in just 1 block.
So something to think about.

I don't know if it's a law where you live, but if they take you across rail road tracks, stop at them. Even if there's no train coming. I nearly failed because I didn't even yield at the tracks. She said there could be an ATV coming that wouldn't set off the lights.

Sounds like everyone else got it covered! You might wanna go out and find an open empty street just to practice parallel parking. My dad and I went and got two little cones to practice with so it wasn't too hard for me.

Looks like everyone has it covered here, lots of good advice. I remember my test, the dmv was right by a school, so I had to go through there at a nice leisurely 25 mph lol, but good luck man, you'll do just fine!

Relax and trust in your skills.Continually check the mirrors so as to know what is happening behind you so that you can react if a situation arises. To cover the parallel parking portion, ask a friend to tailgate you all around and stay close so you can't back into the position.
