Default Fiber optics

So .. this being out for a few years now ... I wonder if anyone here has tried any of the fiber optic options for car audio/video yet ?

If so .. how is it holding up?

Can't say I've seen too many doing this yet. Fiber optics can be pretty touchy when it comes to being squeezed into some of the places car audio needs to go, but if you can find a headunit and amp that accepts an optical cable, I'd be interested in what they have to say. Optics wouldn't be subject to the same EMF degredation you get using standard wire.

Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep are can bus. But I can speak for Mercedes, Porsche Audi and some newer BMW'S. They use a system called M.O.S.T
That stands for Media Oriented Systems Transport. NAVTV makes many different interfaces for vehicles that are fiber optic. What exactly are you looking for as an answer to your question?

Well I happened to be working on my home computer sound system which is fiber optic from the computer to my JVC amp/reciever and i started wondering if there was anything like that for cars yet, after googling and finding older attempts, I was wondering if this was deemed not a viable option and if it was just abandoned for the most part.

I know that there are very flexible single strand fiber optic cables out now .. as its being used in home not so much / business networking.
