It is the ******* of the army. Its inescapable. Thankfully I did my hard time, and the Army saw fit to place me at one of the nicest posts in the army. It really is beautiful here at fort lewis.

It does rain alot, but has not been as bad as people make it out to be. I will take rain and green scenery over snow and salt everywhere.

Please dont, Drum is a career ender. Its where they send people to die when they get old. Unless you have never deployed and want to, then Drum is not a place I would reccomend to anyone.

ArmyofOne, thanks, I am in the dental corp so I heard a more remote post like that would give me some good experience, but I'm glad I got some more info from you guys.

Oh my god you aren't kidding. If you want to be in one place for a long time, go to Drum. If you haven't deployed ever, or enough for your tastes, go to Drum. It's ridiculous. Glad you like Lewis though man, good for you on getting out of here.

Lookin back though, I can say that I dont regret my time there. My unit was ok (just ok, not the best, but not the worst either). If it wasnt for the salt on the roads in the winter, eating my $35,000 truck out from under me, I would not have minded staying there...you kinda get used to the country bumpkin way of life after awhile. And if there is one thing thats hard to get re-adjusted to, its city life...
