i don't know how it could affect oil pressure. unless it was getting a ton of oil up in there and there isn't much oil in the pan, which is causing a different reading. but i'm not for sure.

there are guys on here that have dealt with it more than i that should be along shortly to get ya the needed info.

i get to rip my intake off soon and i'm gonna do the Hughes plate, just to stave off the possibility of that problem (or any other plenum issues) showing up.

My truck has all the signs of a bad plenum, but it also has low oil pressure...or so the gauge says. I think I am just going to get the FI Air Gap, and call it a day, if it is the plenum.

while ur truck is running take off your oil fill cap and put your hand over the hole if it has a little suction or you can hear air sucking through the hole then its bad, also open up the flaps on your throttle body and look down inside your throttle body with a flashlight if theres oil in there then its probably bad.

the holes that the pushrods go through, wich are right underneath the valve cover go to the valley where the intake is, wich the plenum pan is on the bottom of. when the engine is running and it is sucking air into through those holes and where there is a leak its gonna create a vacuum wherever the leak is and create a suction underneath the plate instead of inside the intake, it sucks air along with the oil from the valley where the leak is and usually creates a puddle of oil in your intake and that is allways why alot of people use 2 or 3 quarts in two weeks lol, usually when its realllly bad. remember look down through the throttle body with it open and if theres oil pooling at the bottom thats usually a for sure sign the plenum gasket is bad.
