IMHO---If you can afford to buy a programmer you should be able to afford to pay for any damage that you do to your truck as a result of the programmer(engine &/or drive-train). I've had 4 previous Dodge pickups and put programmers in them all and I took responsibilty for any damage they did. I was lucky and didn't damage anything but I realized that if I did I would have to pay for the damage.

My take is this, if you add a programmer to your truck and something breaks I wouldn't be looking at the programmer as the issue. Some people on here talk about a programmer like your adding a supercharger! If your lucky you might grab an extra 25-30 horsepower with a programmer, that's a best case scenario. If that's enough to damage the transmission, drive shaft, or any other critical component then you were going to have issues with or without a programmer. I agree with 2 of the previous posters that said the tuner will stay within the upper parameters of what the factory tests at and that the dealer, if so chooses, can decline to do any warranty work if engine parameters were found to be "tampered" with. I have DSP installed on my truck with the extended warranty and didn't hesitate for a minute installing the tune.

Someone let me know when any programmers come out for 2011 Ram 1500's, I can't wait to get one. And if one dealership says my warranty is void, I will just go to another dealership, until I find a customer friendly dealership.

Good luck with that most dealers that void your warrantee put it in the system so your warrentee is void at all dealerships some might do little things but if its a major component dodge will not reimburse them for it so unless they charge it to someone elses truck witch would be logged they probably wouldn't do it
