What you folks have to ALWAYS keep in mind is that Sales people are just that SALES people. They are there to sell, sell, sell! Nothing more, nothing less. Say whatever it takes, and do whatever it takes as long as you make the sale, make profit for your company and make money for yourself. I know, I have been in one form of sales or another all my life. The company doesn't care what you buy as long as you buy from them. This guy or gal selling Dodges today was probably selling Toyotas last year, and Pontiacs the year before. They only know the slightest amount of information to make you feel comfortable, but they know lots of fancy catch phrases that are usable throughout the industry. That's the modern world. If you think that is a horrible thing for sales people to behave this way, it's more horrible when you as a sales person try to be honest and get fired for not producing enough. That's the reality we live with. Not every person will appreciate your concern or information that you may try to pass on.

I want to clarify for some that may have misunderstood what I meant by the above post. I didn't mean that being a liar and cheating are the RIGHT way to go about business. I didn't mean it is the preferred way to go about your business. I just meant that it is the way MANY businesses run their operations. I personally have had my difficulties over the years for being honest and forthcoming with info. This is why I know of these practices. I have been told to "keep my mouth shut, and my opinions to myself and just sell the damned product". I know how it goes in the sales world, and it is like many other forms of business, something that can rob you of your soul if you allow it. I have gone out of my way to helps clients beyond what was required of me only to have them not appreciate it in the least. So I hear you saying, "life is a B*TCH, we already knew that." The only lesson to be taken from this is, Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware)!

Sorry things didn't work out for you. I had a 2006 ford f150 and chevy tahoe. Me and my father share 2 boats. Well the larger boat 24ft yamaha trailer weighs in @ 1300 pounds and boat weights in @ 5,000. Thats empty no gas water supplies ect. So last year my ford struggled a little with it up and down the mountains in Tenn on our way to lake norris. The next trip we took my fathers 2010 dodge ram 1500 hemi. You could def tell the difference. We had the boat plus a 4wheeler in the bed of the truck. We were easily pully 7,500 pounds and we had no problems at all.. The truck didn't squat neither did the old ford. We have a standard class 4 reese hitch on there. I have no idea what gear ratio you have be both have the 4x2 and i believe 3.55 no problems what so ever..

Here is the 2010 i went out and bought after using his ram..

I don't care for 1 brand over another i just simply go by the way a truck looks.. if i like it i like it.. I've been very pleased with my ram and it's ability to pull both our boats..

No way. Your truck has almost 400 hp. This just isn't possible unless you have a mechanical issue.

Again not possible. I carry a 1750lb water tank in my bed and my truck doesn't squat that much. Unless your trailer tongue weight is over 1700lbs...

Just saying, I had a 08 5.7 tundra and that trucked pulled like a diesel. I have a 9k work trailer and that truck would pull it with ease. It sure would be thristy though.

I also came from a 08 Tundra. I really miss not having the Tundra pulling power. The Ram gets better mpg empty. Tundra got better mpg pulling.

wow, well i have not pulled with mine yet, but I have the 3.92 axle and did my homework. Truck is rated just over 10K, and I will be towing a 27 foot Rinker Cabin Cruiser, loaded on the trailer weights just under 10K approx. I am sure I will be taxing the truck, but i did use a nissen titan last year once to pull up 81 to A bay, and that had no issues, and was only rated for 8 K. I'll have to let you know..
My 06 2500 hemi was only rated for 9K and that pulled it no problem. Sounds like your sales person really didnt know what he was talking about. When I started talking axle ratios, my salesmen first wanted to steer me to a 2500, however, I am getting a bigger boat, one that you cant tow, in 3 years, and I did not want to have an even bigger gas hog when I am not towing anymore, so I wanted to stay with a 1500. He then told me about the outdoorsmen edition, whihc has the higher axle, more towing cap, and the tortion bar in the back. Built in brake controller as well, He was on the ball.

Well this is a little scary...my 05 and 08 1500 Quad Cabs could pull a house down, I towed my 4000lb car in a 3000lb enclosed trailer (all aluminum, 3000lb enclosed is very light for such a trailer) all over the east coast with no issues. They all had the 3.92 rears and so does my 2011 so I'm hoping this is just an issue with the 3.55's although I really can't see how they would make that much of a difference.

Guess I'll find out soon enough.....spring is almost here....
