Default What offset for new wheels?

I still have not bought the new wheels and tires yet but am pretty close on my decision. I am set on the Dick Cepek DC2 wheels and wonder what offset I would need? I want to bring the wheels out some more, as the flares have added 3-4 inches width to the sides of the truck. Right now it looks weird with the oem 20in chrome clad wheels and tires. I am pretty sure I will also go with some Cooper Zeon LTZ tires. I havent checked this idea out yet, but I am thinking of going with a 17 or 18in wheel instead of the stock 20's. Do you think I would save much money by doing this? Does anyone have ideas on places that do reasonable packages instead of going to a chain store. My discount at Belle Tire is not as good as we thought it would be, so I am now checking elsewhere. The guy at Belle keeps trying to talk me into the 305/50/20 Toyo Open Country AT, but I'm not sure they look agressive enough. I have never seen the Coopers in person so I'm wondering if they look more agressive than the Toyos? Feel free to offer some other tire suggestions for me. My budget for the tires alone has to be $1000.00 or less.
Thanks as usual!

I think you should go with a -12mm offset. I agree with you on the Toyo's not looking aggressive. I like the cooper Zeon LTZ's, but you could also check out Mickey Thompson F-C II or Mickey Tompson ATZ's.

^^^^ Good Alternate Choices ^^^^

A 305 section width tire will require a different offset for sure. What does Belle Tire recommend?

I really want Nitto Trail Grapplers, but everyone including Belle said don't bother because they are not good highway tires. I almost never see dirt roads, I mainly drive all city/highway. I am 95% sure on the Coopers, especially since they are in my budget range.

Belle told me either 305/50/20 or stay with my stock size. I don't want to lose any height on my truck so thats a big sticking point with me. But I also don't want my wheels looking so small because of the flares on the truckI never did ask them about rims, because at the time I was there I didn't plan on even getting any till next year. I still may wait on them, but the wife gave me a tentative go ahead, as long as the price isnt too high lol
