Default Tire questions. I have NO idea

Hey everyone. I'm very new to all of this. This is my first "real" truck and I would like to change the tires. The problem is that I have no idea what my bolt pattern is (5 on 5.5) I think... Don't even know what that means. but offset and all the other stuff... I'm not sure if it's possible but I really want these rims in 22" with low pro tires. Could someone please suggest rubber size and brand to go with these rims?? Well If the rims will fit the truck.
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

I would really appreciate any help I can get
Thanks

I think you could run those wheels on your truck. Our bolt pattern is 5x5.5 inches or 5x139mm (means the same). It basically just means our trucks are 5 lug and I think the measurement in inches or mm is the distance between the center of the two lugs that are the greatest distance apart. The important thing is that only wheels in this bolt pattern will bolt on your truck.

The biggest factor here might be the offset. The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface (the flat part of the wheel that touches your truck hub) to the centerline of the wheel. It basically controls how much of your rim sticks out from the truck or tucks itself back under the fender. You need to find out what offset those wheels come in because I didn't see it on the site. Factory offset is +20mm (for factory 20 inch rims). Since you are also wanting to go with a wheel that is .5 inch wider than stock, the offset will determine which direction that .5 inch goes, out from under your fender or in towards stuff it might rub on.

As for tires, I guess it really depends on what kind of tire you want. I see you live in Canada. Are you going to need an all-terrain tire? How low profile are you looking for? Do you want the entire wheel/tire height to be close to the height of the wheels and tires you have now or taller or shorter? What size factory wheels and tires do you have? Your truck is a 4x4 right so I assume you don't intend to lower it? Get back to us with the offset of those new wheels and answer the tire questions and we will try to point you in the right direction. Hope this helps some.

thanks for your help.
It says on the KMC website that the offset for the 20" and the 22" wheels are +15,+30. As far as rubber goes. I just want something that looks good. Not really worried about A/T or not. These are intended to be just summer rims and rubber. I think I would like to stay as close to factory hight as possible.
Factory size of my tires is 275/60R20

Holy crap. I just typed for like 20 minutes and then lost it when I tried to submit. That sucks. So here's a shorter reply, lol.

I think the +15 offset would be best for you. It's going to have your new wheels sticking out from under the fender almost 0.5 inches more than the stock 20s but only going back towards the inside where it might rub 0.05 inches. The +30mm offset would have the wheel tucked in under the fender more than the stock 20s and also have nearly 3/4 inch more wheel on the inside where it might rub.

As for tires, I see Tirerack suggests 285/45/22s for that rim. I think that would look great. A 285 is wide enough to look really sporty and that size tire is nearly an inch shorter than the stock 20 so it's not a huge difference. You could probably fit a 305/45/22 as well if you want even wider and that size tire is very close to the height of the stock 20s (just a hair shorter). What brand you go with really depends on what you like the look of and the reviews. I think Firestone makes good tires and the new Firestone ST looks badass. I also like the Cooper Zeon XSTA and Cooper tires rock. The General Grabber UHP looks mean too.

I recommend that you either talk to someone who has fitted a larger diameter, wider tire and wheel or be sure to get a fitment guarantee with return policy when you order them. I'm basing my fitment opinion on the numbers alone.

Hope this helps some! Good luck!

Good luck and make sure we get some pics when you get it all together. I like the look of that rim.

ok... another dumb question.... So I was asking a couple buddies and I think more of them then no said that those rims are not "what i'm looking for" they say that they are too "beefy" of a rim to put low pro rubber on. any opinions?? I was doing some more looking around and really liked the look of a couple of the dvinci rims umm the duro, Gira (white on black) and the Cinque (white on black) as well. Opinions there???

I think that tire and wheel will look great. Yeah, it's low profile but it's not like it's going to be a rubber band tire. I googled that rim and found a few images of 22s and they looked just fine.
