That sounds almost 100% like a failed headgasket. Do a search on here and google for failed headgaskets, lots of information to be found. The bad news is be prepared to pay anywhere from $1K to $2K depending on which mechanic you bring it to.

well since i put the new radiator on it hasnt even got close to overheating or anything, it stays right below halfway....i cleaned up the plugs some more and it seems to be doing better now....it still sputtering but i can get it to rev up to 5K now....you think maybe it could just be the moisture working its way out? also i put injector cleaner through it....hopefully it continues to improve. tommaro im gonna test the TPS and have my buddy use his code reader on it and see what comes up...

When you pulled the plugs, was there water in the cylinder? Check your oil, does it look milky white? If so that is water mixing with your oil= headgasket fail. Is water coming out of your exhaust, or does your exhaust smell like antifreeze? Do you have a check engine light? Likely if you have a bad sensor you will have a check engine light. Also pay attention to you water level going down or oil level going up without adding anything.

I didnt want to jump to conclusions, but the 4.7 liter is notorious for blowing headgaskets. The radiator blowing up in an indicator of pressure buildup from exhaust gas. Great that you fixed it, but the truck still doesnt run like its supposed to, even after you dried everything.

so far so good...oil is normal...dark but normal (need oil change). since i dried out the plugs they have stayed dry so far, only the four plugs on the driver side were wet (where the fluid was spraing out the radiator)...i pull them out everytime i go somewhere now...lol. im gonna drive it around some more today and see what happens...there was always a check engine light on... mass airflow sensor, i beleive it is from my intake never could get it to go away...thanks for the input i appriciate it... ill let you know later today where it stands...

wish i would have found this forum before i got this truck...would never have bought a 4.7 dodge

I had a 4.7 on my '06 and ran a flawless 98,000 miles on it by doing oil changes every 5k and following dodges reccomended services. It was a good engine but I want mo-power.

I'd keep an eye on the head gasket as recommended.
