From what I have read on these forums the rear ends are not a direct swap. The 3.92 has a larger rear pumpkin requiring a complete change of rear axel. I was also under the impression that the Outdoorsman package came standard with the 3.92, I know mine did.

I just replaced my 2009 Ram with the 2011 Outdoorsman 4x2 in Hunter Green (the coolest paint ever!!).
I was going to remove the decal, but after a week it is kind of growing on me.
My truck has the 3.55 rear end. I would think that the LSD and 3.91 would be standard on an Outdoorsey truck.

I wonder if my lifetime warranty would be affected I swapped out the rear end for the 3.91. ???
Check your build sheet. The Outdoorsman comes with rubber floor mats.

So far, I am very happy with my new Outdoorsman. I picked it up in Atlanta on Monday, drove to Savannah for a conference and then drove down to New Smyrna Beach yesterday. This truck was the only Outdoorsman the dealer had (Palmer Dodge in Roswell, GA) so I really had no choice on color. Mine is the Black/grey combo with the tan interior.
I when I ordered the build sheet I found that there were some little options included that weren't listed on the internet window sticker. Things like the towing package and remote start only made the deal sweeter.

Congratulations Steve PG - awesome looking truck! I'm considering one of these as the replacement to my 2003 RAM Off-Road Edition. This seems to be a popular color combination for many dealerships and it does look great. Enjoy!

Default Outdoorsman

I think the Outdoorsman is the only model that has the extra heavy duty suspension, for towing

Hey Zooman001

Welcome and and congrats on your new Ram. Funny that you bring this up as I was curious what the suspension differences are. My build sheet lists these:

SFBS Front Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
SGBS Rear Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers

What is listed on a standard build sheet?

Mine is a 2500 Outdoorsman. I was drawn to it for the Hunter Green color and the lack of Chrome. I removed all the badges but the two Ram's heads. I really like that it has all of the towing package items standard. I don't do a ton of towing, but at least I have the ability when I want to. The taller suspension of the 2500 also appealed and I am glad I went with it. Running through the Black Hills this last week was seriously fun. Plenty of power climbing the hills and being able to select a gear makes coming back down easy on the brakes as well. So far I am one happy camper. Just passed the 650 mile mark on it today.
