The emblems on the tail gate aren't that hard to remove, and you can easily add it back after it's painted. All it takes to put it back on is some double sided tape.

My advice would be to remove the emblem, prep it well and paint it black. I believe that you'll have better results than if you try to paint it while still on the truck. I believe that there are some other threads dealing with painting of the emblem, if you do a search you should easily be able to find 'em.

You might be able to find a metallic black paint. I think I've seen cans of the stuff at both the auto parts store and at Wally World.

good luck and be sure to post pics when you get it completed

You can order a single can of OEM paint from the dealership. I would also remove the badge before painting, trying to get proper coverage while on the vehicle is gonna be hard. Pick up some 'badge/emblem' tape from your local parts store and you should have no problems with it.

I think if you tried black chrome it would look pretty cool
Not sure if it would work on an emblem but: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/s...=Promo1Marquee

Worst come to worst your spray it all black if you dont like it

I have it on good authority that a good body shop can have the hole patched and looking like there was nothing there for a couple hundred bucks.
