Default hitch question

Just got my hitch piece put on last night and was wondering if the plastic cap was suppose to fit back on the bumper to cover up the big bolt that holds the hitch in place. My bolt sticks up to far to put the cap back on was wondering if maybe i didnt do something right. If so anybody have any suggestions on how to cover it up other than maybe spray paint it black so it wouldnt stick out as much.

if it's a bumper mount...I doubt you'll be able to do it....since it uses the holes...if it's a frame mount, you shouldn't have had to touch the bumper

In my opinion, a bumper hitch is worthless, you can't even put a 6 X 8 utility trailer on one if it is loaded, the bumper just is not made for it, around here people put a cut open golf ball over the ball hitch

if i were you, i would buy a Class 3 or 4 frame mounted hitch receiver on it, like any of these

then get a ball mount like this

You need to go look at a factory class III hitch. They bolt to both the frame and the bumper.

I have the same hitch. The bolt should go in far enough to you to put the cover back on.
