Thank you for your time Guys! Greatly appreciated. For future ref. My truck is a 99 2500 w dana 60 rear (aka-spicer 6200) the axel nut socket is a 2 9/16" I was concerned but when I backed the nut off a metal clip in a groove curled the seal on axle nut but it coiled very neatly in this gap like that was Intend? Is anyone familiar with This?I used thread locker when re-installing but semi-worried about improper Installation?

Yes. That is the locking tab. Your actually supposed to bend this back before removing the nut....Opps! It's basically a thin metal washer with tabs that can be bent to lock the nut from turning after it's installed. Usually there are more than one tab, so if one is broken off, you can use on of the other ones. Only 1 locking tab is required.

BTW - Here is a link to the Dana60 service manual. Page 32 covers the locking tab.

Good i got it reassmbled but I havnt drivin it Yet? Like I saod I curled off that plastic seal that was on the nut. I'm thinking that was there to stop gear oil from getting in the threads and breaking it loose also when I backed it off that metal retainer clip came off so that's not in place at the moment either. I was smart enough to use a good bit of thread locker when I re instaled the nut but I'm srill worried.

The plastic seal is actually not a seal. It is what is called a 'Ny-lock'. It is intended to stop the nut from loosening easily. The metal locking tab, however, is VERY important. The last thing you want is to have that nut back off under normal driving conditions. As this nut is there to hold the bearing in place, it is not 'tightened' per say, so you can't rely on thread torque to hold it.

I'm not sure, but would expect that you can buy the metal locking washer thingy as an individual part from the dealer or an auto supply store. It would be worth checking into.
