Default Help with Exhaust

I have 06 2500 ram Hemi with six spd. I upgrade intake air (K&N) Custom built with 3" pvc sch 40. Installed diablosport predator. I'm looking for better power and torque for towing. I have a factory dual header that is 2" into one before muffler. However I do not want replace header. (I want keep backpressure for better torque) I still curretly have factory muffler, which it is 2 1/2" What my plan is to remove factory muffler and replace with 2 1/2" Flow master Sereis 44 (FLO-942548) Summitracing.com From what i know this muffler is suppose to have a GREAT sound and more power and torque.. hope it is works for 2 1/2" pipe.. at the tail end probably the same size what i have now. It ain't going make any different after muffler.. i don't think. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I'll be greatly apprectice for a help.

Performance wise you may want to look into hooker aerochambers over the flowmaster. I like there sound better too

Default Are you sure it's 2 1/2" ?

I was looking to liven up the sound on the cheap. The 2500's come with mandrel bent 3" from the factory, so I bought a 180deg mandrel bend and a short section of pipe, all stainless, and a Flowmaster Super10. I dropped the factory muffler and welded up an S-pipe, to duplicate the factory muffler offset, and stuck the Super10 in.

The outside sound was awesome, but the interior resonance was insane!! It actually hurt at about 1900rpm. So I ordered up a Pypes M-80, and put that in front of the Super10. The Pypes muffler kills the resonance and the Super10 depens the tone. I'm very happy with the combination. Interior sound is very good, but she still has a LOT of bark. (my neighbors love me )

Put a nice 4" tip on the factory tail pipe and wala!!

Total cost, not as cheap as I had hoped. I've got about $150 in it, but the sound ended up to be exactly what I was after, and everything is stainless, so it should last a long time.

The point is, on the 2500's you have a good system from the factory. I did pick up a half MPG or so, so efficency has been improved. Use what ya got, and just select the sound that you want.

Looked at it, it's only available in aluminized steel, where as the Super10 is 416 stainless. Living in NE Pa., I gotta have the stainless. Besides, I picked it up on Ebay for about $65 delivered, about the same as the Cherry bomb at summit.
