Default A Love Story... (and a finish problem)

I want to tell you about my newest long term partner. We met last month and have only been together for less than 3 weeks, but I'm already madly in love. Her name is Kezia.

She has a beautiful face,

and an unbelievable backside.

She doesn't judge me for my video game addiction,
http://i.imgur.com/qbJz5.jpg

and she's the only girl who doesn't mind when I stalk her.

<3 Kezia. My 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT/Sport

With all that said, I hate how aged the finish looks already. It was like this when I purchased the truck planning to fix it up myself. Well, planning isn't doing, and I wanna get started. I've got some nasty scratches that don't look deep at all, some fairly unsightly hazing in the paint in several areas and small bits of rust in one or two places. Pics below.

Sorry for the dustiness of the truck. I took these at work. You can also see some of the hazing/fading paint if you can look past the dust. All of these things frustrate me every time I wash her. Any suggestions? Should I just get a new paint job, or is that as drastic as it seems?

I wouldn't even know where to begin. All I know is no amount of time at the touchless car wash has done a thing for any of it. Beyond that, I'm lost. Any help would be greatly obliged.

Lol I love how you described it. That's a nice truck man.

Is it still under warranty? I would think that rust would be covered considering its only an 09.

I like how you described that, too man! That is a nasty looking scratch but have you tried clay barring and waxing it to see if that may help with the finish? You might give the TurtleWax Black Box a try, several on here have had great results with it. Nice looking truck, though and good luck getting the blemishes taken care of!

I do have a warranty, but I don't have a copy of it at the moment. It was sent to my co-signor as the loan is entirely in his name, and forgot to grab my copy when I left the dealership as my excitement was through the roof, so I'm not positive on what it covers. I've been meaning to go back and grab that. haha I know it covers a lot, though. I guess I could just take it in to the dealership and see what they say.

In the meantime, I'm gonna try that black box. 20 bucks, can't go wrong. A nice Sunday project.

The basic bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty is attached to the truck, not the person. You should just be able to bring the truck in and give them the vin for it and they will have the warranty info.

Now if its an extended warranty, then you need the paperwork if you transfer owners

There should be some warranty for that.

Check out our Newbie How To's...it will show you how to post up a pic in the thread instead of just links!

That rear damage looks like the plastic wheel wells are not in and something like a large rock hit from the inside out, that would not be covered, nor the scratch but you never know, go to a dealership when they are dead seems they are hard up for business and will fix anything under warranty.

Oh, I wasn't expecting them to fix the scratches or anything. Just the rust. Thanks for the advice guys. I'll take her in and see what they say.

Also, I do know how to post pics, but figured since they're so large that I'd link them to save anyone with a slower connection some loading time.

In the meantime, if anyone has any products they'd recommend for getting rid of those scratches, I would be thrilled. Or should I just go with the black box?
