Default 1999 5.2L performance help

Hi im new to the forums and i was wanting to ask what are some good options to pump out some extra performance in my truck. I'm looking more into buying a tuner so some tuner suggestions would be most helpful.
Also im only 17 and am still learning about my truck so try to explain the suggestions in as dumbed down as possible haha.

I also have a '99 5.2L. Basic performance mods would be a cold air intake, shorty headers, exhaust and a programmer. Superchips or Hypertech make one for our trucks.

Beyond that, it's time for cam, heads, maybe forced induction.

If you go look under the 5.9L engine mods you can see the cold air intake I made. It will also work on the 5.2L its cheaper than buying one for $200+.

Not sure if this is how you link or not. but you can try it.

Wow this helped alot thanks.
Also one more question I was looking and found something called an electric supercharger and ive never heard of an electric supercharger. It claimed to give it 50-70 horsepower. Does anyone have any experience with those. I was just asking because i dont know if i would want to put anything electric near gas.

just my $.02 but that electric supercharger constantly spins at a set rate, when idling your dumping more fuel because of the air is being forced in, also when at higher speeds the supercharger is slowing your cold air flow, also the moment you see a mud puddle being seventeen like i am, you will most likely go through it, and possibly short/break/catch on fire your electric supercharger, its more of a nussance than a help.

All of these are pretty easy to do and relatively inexpensive. Just take your time and stay organized.
