Default AFE PRO 5 Dry Intake System 11 Ram Sport

Hey guys,

I put this intake on my '11 Ram 1500 Sport Quad Cab ...

http://wwww.afepower.com/shop/detail...632&print=true

After 2 tanks of gas, my gas mileage went from 15.1 to 13.4 mpg.

Moreover, it's loud as hell ... a lot of cab noise when you accelerate.

Needless, to say, I'm not thrilled. I called a local performance parts shop and they told me I'm driving it harder, which is BS because I drive the truck the same everywhere I go ... not aggressive at all. Truck has about 3K miles.

Any thoughts? I'm thinking about putting the stock intake back on and selling it.

Pull the negative battery cable off for 30 minutes...this resets the computer and lets the truck "learn" the new intake. See how it is after that, then decide!

Can't do anything about the noise but that ^^^^ is a very good suggestion.

let the pcm learn the new airflow rate..mileage should get better...do you have an exhaust to go with it?

try the above suggestion then run a couple of tanks and record what you get. if you think you are still coming up short reinstall the factory box and run a few more tanks to compare.

Nope, no exhaust to go with it.

I reinstalled the stock air intake. The truck is running much smoother.

I took the ARE intake back. I think I can use the $300 better elsewhere!

Thanks everyone!
