Question Anyone running Valvoline Synthetic?

While shopping with the wife at Walmart I picked up 7qts of Valvoline Synpower full synthetic 5w-20. In all honesty I meant to buy Mobile 1 but I wasnt paying close enough attention. This is it's first oil change and I am sure it will work fine but I was wondering what others have to say about it.(My first venture into Synthetics. I would just return it but the store is over 30 min away. Most of the post I read just seem to be people having their own brand preference over another.

I also picked up a Mopar filter which I found interesting that walmart stocks. Does anyone know who makes the mopar filters?

i believe that anyones oil filter can be inside the outside MOPAR canister shell, it used to be Purolator. I read that there is a number stamped into the base of the filter & supposedly you can figure out the brand from that number

from another website:
According to a recent article at Minimopars, the Mopar Severe Duty filter is now made by Fram. There was also a note on that page that Pennzoil filters may be Frams in yellow cans. It may be safest to stick to Wix, which manufactures their own filters, or Mobil 1 filters, which again are made by Mobil, rather than buying from a company that may change suppliers at any time.

Dealerships are now getting Pennzoil in their bulk tanks & Rotella in bulk for diesels

I just started buying WIX oil filter #57899 & Mobile 1 oil
next oil change is coming up real soon

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the name brand synthetics these days...just use a good filter.

I agreee 100% - I think I've used just about all the different synthetics at one time or other in my vehicles.
