Default 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 w/U7137 Shifting Issue

So, it would seem that many of these threads just die in the Diablo Forums with no definitive answers given. All I want to know is will my truck get screwed up from this shifting issue while I have the 93 tune uploaded or not. I have an aFe stage 2 dry pro intake, a Flowmaster Series 40 American Thunder Exhaust and I use 93 octane fuel and uploaded the 93 tune. I get the shifting stutter when the 93 tune is uploaded but I don't get it when the stock tune is loaded. As long as this isn't doing any damage to my truck i can live with the annoyance of the stutter until someone fixes the issue and puts out an upgrade. But, if it's doing damage to the tranny then I'll live with the stock tune.

Hmmm...not sure where the stutter is coming from. I've not had a lot of good luck with the higher octane tune and actually get better performance and MPG with the 91 tune.

Do you think the stutter is a timing or fuel delivery issue?

According to the threads I've read on the Diablo forums it's a known issue with Dodge that becomes apparent whenever a tune is uploaded. That could be Diablo's way of passing the buck but some people did say they contacted Dodge and were told that it's a known issue and they're working on a fix. Once this fix comes out to fix the stock issue it will carry over to fix the Diablo tune issue. But, there is so much chatter on the issue I can't really seem to get that definitive answer on whether or not I should remove the tune and wait or if it'll be okay for the time being.

Yeah...I understand your dilemma here. I have not experienced the problem with my truck. Can't say whether it's bad or not for your truck. Maybe someone else here does.

Good luck!

Yes, it is very frustrating. I just want to know if it's doing any serious damage or if it's just annoying. I'm amazed that nobody from Diablo is answering. Not very cool.

Normally I have gotten really good support from DS. Of course, things can change and I haven't had to call them in a year or so.

I just noticed that they update the crom so I just updated my Predator. I'll load the tune tomorrow and see if there's any difference.

Wow! Awesome update! It totally eliminated the shifting issue! I could tell the difference in the tune from the moment I started the truck. Better idling, instant throttle response, smoother running. I see they added an MPG Boost tune but I'm sticking with the 93 tune. I turned off MDS and fixed my tire size and I'm totally happy now! We'll see if it does anything to the mileage.
