Default RES with Factory Uconnect but no Ipod connection

Hi,

I've searched around I but I couldn't find the specific answer to my situation.

I have the RES radio with Satellite and factory Uconnect but there is no Ipod connection in the glove box. I went to the dealer and he sold me the cable # 82212001. I took the lower glove box off and found the Uconnect module # 05064762AD but the plug on the 82212001 doesn't fit into the module. I know there is another cable # 82212000, but I thought that it was for the Mopar accessory Uconnect, not the factory one.

So, is there another cable that goes from the factory module into either the Ipod or the # 82212001 or are there Uconnect modules that don't have Ipod integration?

Thanks very much,

Mike

I did a lot more reading tonight and as near as I can figure, it's the 82212000 cable that I need, despite what Dodge saying the opposite. Can anyone confirm that?

where the iPod cable plugs into, it is a mini connector and the 1 that you were sold is a gray square connector about 1/2" X1/2" correct. Are you still looking for the correct cable?

On one end its the connector that goes into the iPod (it's white) and the other end is a black rectangular connector with a reddish end that has 16 pin openings (female). The cord itself is 12" long.

wrong cable I have one of those here too they would not take it back, I got the right one it has the ipod end on one end and the part that plugs into the uconnect module, cable is around 2 feet long. Dont remember the number I sold radio and uconnect and cable and bought a RER.

Brokenwrench66, do they have a store called BEST BUY in your area?
they carry many parts for our radios, including cables of different lengths
some members have found that the short cable that goes to the glove box is a hassle, they bought a longer cable & re-routed it to the center console area, like the ash tray compartment

another part is seen here, not sure if it is what you need
http://www.leeparts.com/2009_dodge_r...gps_radio.html

your radio seen here, also check the download page over on the left for radio manual
http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/quality/res/

this may NOT apply to your radio
To utilize your iPod, a separate iPod cable, part number 82211263 must be purchased. Will not work with RES radio w/o uconnect button.

Thanks for the input Rick and GT. I just got back from the dealer. They weren't going to take it back either but I persuaded then that I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. They had the cable I think I need, 82212000, but it was on hold for another custom and they wouldn't let me see if it would plug in as "then the part would be used." It was hard to argue with logic like that. They offered to order me in one but couldn't guarantee it would be the right one and I wouldn't be able to return it if it was special ordered. Nice.

Anyway, I'll check out Best Buy and if that's a fail, I'll just order 82212000 online and hope for the best. What a pain!
