Default 35'' MT on stock Outdoorsman rims

Hi guy's, new here and i should have my truck tomorow or thursday.

It's a Ram 1500 4x4 Outdoorsman Crewcab and yes it got the Hemi I want to level it in the near futur, but i would prefer to keep the stock wheel for now. Stock wheel are 17x7 i think and i would like to put 35'' MT (315/70R17) on them.

Will it fit on stock wheel and a leveling kit or will i need wider wheels?


Almost forgot, if someone have picture with 35'' on stock 17'' i wouldn't mind to see them.

Are you asking if you can do 35s stock or 35s and a level. You're wheels should be fine tho, may balloon a little. It'll definately work with a leveling kit. Not sure about stock height, someone that knows for sure.....

With a leveling kit, but on stock wheel. They're only 7'' width and i think to fit 315 you need atleast 8'' width wheel.

Ou can run 35s with a level no problem!

Im running 35x12.50x17 Federal Couragia Mt on my stock JK 17x7.5 wheels....

I think that the rule is you want the tread width within 4 inches of the wheel width. You can fudge this a little, but the more you get past this, the more likely you are to have a bead that doesn't seat right and breaks loose under stress, like in a turn.

On the JK, the curb weight is a lot less than on our trucks, so it isn't as likely to be an issue, but still I wouldn't push it by taking turns too fast.

Just did some digging and you need a wider wheel to go 315/70/17.

That's what i was thinking.

Why did Dodge put 7'' width rim on the Outdoorsman If they were 8'' it would of been ok.

I guess i'll have to buy my black KMC XD Addict sooner

Just about everything boneheaded on our truck is a direct result of the government and the demand for higher EPA MPG ratings. Narrow rims mean narrow tires, which are lighter and have less rolling resistance to get better mileage.

It's just stupid, because 7'' is right at the limit for 275.
Rim width range for a 275/70R17 (stock on Outdoorsman) is 7'' to 8.5''
They should of put 8'' atleash. Stock 20'' are 9''
