I have a 95 ram with a 318 with 365k miles. the motor finally kicked the bucket. just so happen i have a 90ram van b body 3500 with a 360 carburated. What are your guys thoughts on a conversion? hp gain/loss? pulling power gain/loss? gas mileage gain/loss. has anyone here done it before, and what does it intel? It is a 90 model 360 engine with a 340 tunnel ram intake and a 750 quadrajet carb bolted to a a518 trans. i know in the van it was a stock 5.0 stang killer that weighs 8500lb. Anyways any info would be appreciated. thanks.
Just as an update for those who even care. I installed the L.A. 360 into my 95 ram. Oh man does this thing scream. Update on the motor. It is a 92 360 hd premagnum with the roller cam and 4 barrel spread boar intake off a late 70's truck motor. according to allpar.com the stock 360 4bbl hd motor has 175 hp 260 ftlb tq. the stock magnum has 220 hp 300 tq. Now keep in mind the 360 is not stock so it is unknown the actual hp/tq the motor has now. i can tell you from driving it i can feel a MAJOR power increase by this engine swap.
