Default 2002 5.9ltr Air Conditioning Problem&Vents

My air conditioning blows cold air(not as cold as before) while I'm driving. If I stop at a red light or get caught in slow traffic it starts to blow warm air. Once I start moving at a normal speed it starts to blow cool air,not cold as before. Any help before I bring her in for a inspection would be awesome. Another thing is my blower feeds driver side vents more on dash and less on feet. The passenger side vents get more air(or heat) on feet and less on dash vents? Two problems that may be related,or not. Any help from you Dodge Boys would be great. James.

i had the same problem on my 02 5.9 id heard about a blend door being stuck somewhere causing this to happen. never did get it fixed and then bought my new truck.

ive heard you can get under the passenger side dash and remove the fan module and there is a door there behind the fan that may be stuck and you can push it open with your fingers and reinstall the fan.

The blend door only controls warm air or cold air through the vents. If the air is cold and you have A/C on then the A/C would have to be switched to heat for the blend door to switch over. They can adjust the blend door, however not related.
I have the same issue. Replaced, evap, dry box, filter, compressor so far and still same. About to replace condenser next.

I think you have two items going on here...a system that needs to be recharged and a faulty HVAC blend door or blend door actuator.

Your a/c has a fan underhood that will cause the problem you describe. Opem your hood and start your truck, on the drivers front of the engine bay is a small electric fan, this fan should be running. It works just like a radiator fan, its supposed to cool off the small radiator thingy (it goes to the a/c, condensor I think its called). The second issue is more then likely a blend door issue. If you choose to fix this issue yourself, you will learn more about your truck then you ever cared to know.
Sure it'll suck, but it'll make you a man
