Thanks for the post.

My truck is an '06 4.7 and it said 'MAGNUM' on the big airbox (that it no longer has.) I'm pretty sure mine is the LOW OUTPUT. I'm looking for a decal of a turtle that I can put '4.7 on.

Oh yah, and I hear the H.O. 4.7's have 2 spark plugs per cyclinder. 1 set on top, and the other set you can only see from under the truck. I have not confirmed this though.

Default plugs

In 2008 all 4.7 engines have 2 plugs per cylinder.EGR and knock sensors were added in 2005. In model year 2008, Chrysler replaced the 4.7 liter V8 with a new version. Power went from 230 hp to 290 hp (and up to 320 lb-feet of torque) with that move; gas mileage went up, and noise and vibration went down. The new 4.7-liter V-8 features 5.7-Hemi features such as two spark plugs per cylinder, with a high 9.8:1 compression ratio, and better port flow; but it has a new slant/squish combustion system design.

I have done extensive searching on the web to find out if the '02 Jeep that was advertised as having a 4.7HO was actually a HO. What I'd found was if you look at the VIN the 8th digit (signifies engine family) needs to be a "J" to be a 4.7HO which is as you stated an EVC code. The non HO I believe is "N". The VIN is the easiest way to determine what the vehicle was built with. This link I found it pretty cool to decode a VIN. Plug the VIN in and it will actually bring up the build sheet with all the factory codes for the accessories, paint, interior, etc. It's not just what is available, it is the actuall build sheet. The jeep by the way does have the 4.7HO.
