Default OEM vs. Putco chrome grill inserts

Does anyone have an opinion on this? I was looking at the Putco grill inserts and they are made of stainless steel and are a little cheaper than the OEM chrome inserts. It would be cool if I could see pictures side by side of each since the putco website only shows an older dodge grill or something!

Heres a link to the putco version:

Personally I would hop on moparpartsonline and buy a color matched grille shell (it comes with black honeycomb inserts) for 240$ before buying just the inserts alone. If you already have a color matched shell then I cant help ya because I have no experience with putco inserts. Surely someone on here has used their inserts before.

If the Putco inserts are polished metal, that will be a bit of a maintenance nightmare unless you are gonna (1) clearcoat them, or, (2) spend a LOT of time in front of your truck, cleaning and polishing them.

Me, I had chromed plastic on the front of mine, the chrome started to peel and so I replaced the grille with an OEM body colored grille which has a simulated brushed aluminum set of inserts. I topped it off with a nice billet Ram's head emblem.
