Default RRT: WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) Flash

Just had my truck in for some other issues. They performed a Flash of the WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) or sometimes referred to as WCM (Wireless Control Module). Apparently in response to RRT 10-047. It has to do with intermittent remote start. I hadn't experience any issues, they just did it as I was having other warranty work done.

Hadn't seen this mentioned any where here yet.

thats interesting. I remember back when I first got the truck home I tried to show off the remote start and for some reason it did not start... It just locked all the doors and gave up I guess. It has worked flawlessly ever since then but I will have to look into this.

It says remote start but I wonder if it would help fix an intermittent problem I have with the remote lock. Every now and then my key FOB wont unlock/lock the doors when I'm pressing the button.

MY FOBs were acting up like that, dealer FLASHED the truck, it sort of worked
Then i got caught outside my truck in a down pour, groceries in both hands
I went to the dealer again, they ordered new Fobs & Flashed the unit again
all done under warranty
works 99% of the time now

I didn't have any known issues either. One time I think it didn't start, but I had the drivers door open, so I assumed that was it. I mentioned it because some may think be having issues and think that it was just being a fluke, when there really is a known issue and a solution. Kind of like the shifting issue, I thought it was just a fluke deal with that trans, turns out there is a solution.

Spreading the information to those in a forum.

I too have issues with the doors not locking/unlocking when the fob buttons are pressed. I just assumed the battery in the fob was dying but perhaps theres another issue.

there are alot of posts about our key fobs, some possible soulutions:
Open them up, and slightly bend the battery contacts to increase the contact tension on the battery.
Install new battery, if older or weak
operate you fobs, from a greater distance away from your truck, they don't work sometimes if your too close
try hitting the lock button a few times, until it activates, then the un-lock button will work again
seems to be a rather common complaint with our trucks
